Ingested for the 2025 calendar year: 443 daily series across 402 stations. This record replaces an earlier placeholder that assumed CC BY 4.0 and a record reaching back to 1900. Both were wrong, and the correction matters in opposite directions: the rights are freer than assumed, and the machine-readable record is far shorter. Registered on data.overheid.nl as Publiek domein — the publisher asserts no rights at all, which is the cleanest position in this registry. The record reaches back to about 2013 and Rijkswaterstaat retains it, so unlike a rolling-window source nothing is lost by not fetching it immediately; what the depth costs is bandwidth, at roughly 16 MB per location-year and some 190 GB for the whole network. Sprint 5 builds the adapter to ingest one complete calendar year, leaving the remaining depth recorded as available but not held. Four properties of the service materially affect correctness and are handled in the adapter: responses arrive split into blocks whose periods overlap, so reading only the first loses most of the record; missing values are encoded as .999999E+38 in the numeric field rather than as nulls; quality code 00 means good while 25 means suspect and 99 means wrong or absent; and validation lags publication by years, so recent data is Ongecontroleerd and older data Gecontroleerd. Checked again on 26 August 2026 for Sprint 7’s water-body linkage: the catalogue publishes a code, a name, a description and a coordinate for each of its 2,498 locations and no water body, catchment or basin of any kind. So the 381 Dutch river gauges Hydrionis holds stay unlinked. Resolving them would need a spatial join against the Dutch water-body boundaries published separately, which is Tier B evidence and a larger piece of work than reading a field.
